Protection from limescale
February 1st 2007

Hydropath has introduced a water-conditioning product to protect low-pressure steam generators from the effects of limescale.

SteamKlear S38 prevents build up of limescale by emitting randomly varying electric fields throughout the system, including heat exchangers, pipes, pumps and other connected apparatus.

It enhances the precipitation of the bicarbonates from solution to suspension by introducing clusters of ions in the water to act as seed for suspended crystallisation. The resulting suspension, therefore, does not adhere to pipework or internal surfaces, but is simply 'washed away' with the flow and during blow down.

The product is easy to fit; there is no need to cut into pipework.
