The Governemtn's move towards coal-fired power stations

This government has either no idea of how to deal with CO2 emissions, or no intention of dealing with them. ( They have apparently increased by 2% since they have been in power ). Either way it's a damning indictment.
They, ( like many ), tinker at the margins ( additional taxes for SUV's etc.) which will have relatively little effect, whilst apparently backing significant airport expansion, where the effects will be substantial.
One of the bodies at the United Nations, when referring to climate change recently, described our government as a world leader in rhetoric, which just about sums them up.
