Digging for refractory minerals August 1st 2007 Minelco is the Minerals division of Swedish Company LKAB, a producer of highly upgraded iron ore products.
At The Energy Event,Minelco will be presenting SeqiOlivine, a mineral mined from Minelco's own resource in Greenland.
SeqiOlivine is known to exhibit properties for both abrasion resistance and catalytic tar cracking and is successfully being used in power plants using fluidised bed technology. As a mineral, SeqiOlivine is an extremely versatile product. Minelco has developed grades used in a wide variety of different industries including refractories, anti-skid road surfacing, grit blasting,water jet cutting and foundry moulding.
Alongside SeqiOlivine,Minelco Minerals, based in Scunthorpe, delivers customised minerals for a wide range of applications including water treatment, land remediation, land fill construction, horizontal directional drilling, ballasting and high density concretes used in ground stabilisation, sub-sea construction, nuclear and medical shielding.
Minelco is also actively involved in the reclamation and recycling of refractory minerals. |
