Power up for the Energy Event 2008
December 1st 2007

Offering delegates a true insight into energy purchasing, energy management and efficiency as well as showcasing innovations in product development, the Energy Event 2008 promises to be the biggest ever seen. Visitors will have access to over 100 manufacturers and service providers from the UK and overseas

On the 10th and 11th September 2008, the Energy Event will be held across six exhibition halls spanning three floors at the National Motorcycle Museum in Birmingham.

Online registration is now open, to sign up for advance VIP tickets, visit www.theenergyevent.com.

The event is sponsored by EDF Energy,Total Gas & Power, Encore International and LLumarlite.

Conference partners are ESTA (Energy Services & Technology Association), MEUC (Major Energy Users Council), Cibse (Chartered Institute of Building Service Engineers),Envirowise, Encore International, Broadfern/eic and BCAS (British Compressed Air Society).

The conference partners will deliver information on the most pertinent issues of the day. The conference programme will span both days offering delegates access to crucial information on both energy purchasing and energy management and efficiency.

The MEUC will be holding its annual members meeting, focussing on gas and electricity purchasing.

Encore International will be offering first calls information and advice on energy purchasing, specifically aimed at the larger end users who can hear how to best manage their exposure to the volatile energy markets. The energy price risk management seminars will take place on both days. Broadfern/eic will host a procurement solutions seminar that will look at areas such as corporate social responsibility, market movements, European energy issues and carbon management.

Delegates wanting to find out about energy management and efficiency will be catered for by ESTA, cibse, BCAS and Envirowise.

ESTA and Cibse will jointly host a one day programme focusing on Energy Performance Certificates and Display Energy Certificates. Issues covered will include: deadlines for implementation, costs and benefits, how to achieve a good grade and how to become an energy assessor.

ESTA will also hold its own one day seminar programme focussing on energy management techniques and products such as aM&T.

Referred to as the fifth utility, compressed air is a costly site service and should not be overlooked. BCAS will discuss ways of incorporating effective energy management techniques towards compressed air systems.

Envirowise, contracted by Defra to manage the Governments Water Technology List, will concentrate on the issue of water efficiency.

The comprehensive range of conferences and seminars complement the headline two day conference Energy Insight. Energy Insight was introduced to the energy event in 2007 when the owners, Western Business Exhibitions, managed a major revamp and created a new brand identity. The Energy Insight conference was such a big hit that there was standing room only. Delegates travelled from across the UK and as far away as North & Latin America and South Africa to hear insight from leading experts and international commentators including CBI,WWF,Bloomberg,UK Ministers and FTSE100 major energy users. Energy Insight at the energy event 2008 will once again play host to A-List speakers. News on the programme and confirmed speakers will be announced on the energy event website in due course.

New for 2008 is a strong partnership with Carbon Clear a leading London-based organisation that helps businesses achieve zero impact status by maintaining a broad and exclusive portfolio of high-quality clean energy and other carbon reduction projects that improves lives in developing countries. The Energy Event team is dedicated to again offsetting its impact and proud to be working with Carbon Clear.
