Energy efficiency recognised
December 1st 2008

Woodcraft Folk were crowned National Champion of UK CEED’s National Energy Efficiency Awards 2008.The awards sponsored, by EDF Energy, culminated in a prestigious Awards ceremony held on 2nd December 2008 at Shakespeare's Globe Theatre in London.The ceremony showcased the innovative energy efficiency work of 43 shortlisted projects across the Award's 10 categories.

The Woodcraft Folk won a hattrick of awards on the night.As well as the National Champion award, they also won the Education and Awareness Raising category, while their nomination George Brooke took the new Young Carbon Champion award.The judges praised the organisation for “a truly wonderful example of young people taking the environmental lead - a very inspiring and a very worthy overall winner”.

In her keynote address at the ceremony,Minister Joan Ruddock MP praised the finalists for demonstrating innovative and diverse ways to demonstrate the business and organisational benefits arising from greater energy efficiency.

Integrated Environmental Solutions’ Sarah Graham, business development manager, receives their award for Energy Services, sponsored by Water Energy & Environment, from Tim McManan- Smith, group editor and Paul Ross.
