Energy 2006 will, as with previous events, be enhanced by a comprehensive conference and workshop programme, which will be presented this year by CIBSE, ESTA, the Major Energy Users Council (MEUC), Encore International, the British Compressed Air Society and last but by no means least, the Energy Information Centre (EIC).

The EIC seminar, entitled "Integrated Energy Cost Control" will address the manner in which energy resources are purchased and managed, covering the whole supply chain from procurement to data validation and utilisation. The CIBSE programme has not yet been finalised but will include energy efficiency topics that concern busy building services engineers. The MEUC offering will consider how market conditions, regulatory reactions, buyer and supplier strategies, efficiency measures and pricing forecasts can keep user 'ahead of the game.' ESTA's workshops will focus on the theme "Fighting back against energy prices" and Encore International will be holding a series of 'risk management of capital'workshops.

Extremely upbeat concerning increasing support for the Energy shows, exhibition director Eamon Brennan states "UK energy users and suppliers are at the crossroads concerning the ever spiralling cost of energy. In this respect, the Energy shows play a key role in providing industry with viable solutions to this growing problem. We are more than confident therefore, that this year's event is set fair to exceed the success of Energy 2005, which returned to the National Motorcycle Museum, superbly refurbished after its disastrous fire. The Energy shows are the fastest growing events of their type in the UK and the industry's commitment to them is underlined in advance bookings for Energy 2006, which have enabled us to extend the show into a 4th hall." "Energy 2006 like its predecessors, will attract a high quality end user visitor base, with energy managers, environmental advisers, procurement managers, facilities managers and project engineers from major UK commercial companies as well as local and national government purchasers and users of energy. We are now widely identified as a leading UK showcase of innovative and cost saving energy solutions and are determined to develop this commitment still further with an even more successful show this year."
