Boiler monitoring and control
April 1st 2004

Godalming based controls specialists, Apollo Solutions, have developed their PRO2Monitor as a stand alone programmable monitoring and control unit for industrial boiler plant. The unit is designed to monitor performance and efficiency while offering increased safety levels and environmental monitoring.

In our experience, the majority of conventional boilers do not currently have monitoring equipment fitted as standard, says Apollo Solutions engineering director Paul Mailes, our PRO2Monitor offers a simple retrofit solution to this problem, providing the dual benefits of improved environmental management information and increased safety levels.

PRO2Monitor comprises a flue gas oxygen sensor and temperature sensor to measure combustion conditions within the boiler. These values are used to calculate combustion efficiency and alarms to provide early warning of poor combustion. Additional options include PID modulation, fuel metering, fuel hour meters plus additional spare inputs to allow further information such as TDS and water level. Housed in an IP65 enclosure with an LCD backlit HMI display, the unit offers both RS232 and RS485 communication ports for interfacing into SCADA and BMS systems.
