High-heads and self-priming
June 1st 2006

Certain liquid transfer applications require a pump to deliver high heads and to be self-priming. Many self-priming pumps have an open impeller construction and this limits the available pressure from the pump. Alpha ORA-C series pumps, available through Pump Engineering, are designed to provide a low cost, reliable solution to this problem. A modified housing and closed impeller means that these pumps retain the characteristics of the self-priming centrifugal pump, with the ability to deliver high heads to 100m.

The Alpha range of centrifugal pumps are available as end suction or multi-stage and are supplied in sizes from 11/2 to 4in. In addition to providing high heads, they are capable of delivering flow rates to 3000l/min.
