Tasty package for MCL Energy April 1st 2008 Energy Services supplier,MCL
Energy,was recently awarded a
long-term boiler and utilities
maintenance services contract for
Saxon Valley Foods at its
Bedfordshire manufacturing facility.
The company, part of the
multinational Bakkavor Group that
has manufacturing bases across the
globe, was looking for a site utilities
solution that included
management of the boiler house,
compressed air, factory and office
heating, and DHW systems.
The client put a specification
together for suppliers to bid
against. Plant upgrade and
replacement requirements
included modifications to the
condensate return system to
reduce the cost associated with
steam generation and some
conversion of steam to LPHW heat
exchangers to direct fired units.
As part of Saxon Valley Foods
energy efficiency initiatives, the
steam boilers are having variable
speed drives fitted to reduce
electrical consumption and cost.
The service provided by MCL
Energy includes daily operation of
the associated plant and
equipment, 24h call-out response,
all service, replacement and steam
distribution testing.
The capital works for the plant,
and systems upgrades are being
financed by MCL Energy over the
term of the contract.
Saxon Valley Foods is the latest in
