Optimised energy management December 1st 2005 Optimise is an energy management service from Cofathec Heatsave, encompassing every aspect of energy management from administration and management through plant operation, control and 24 hour monitoring to the procurement and supply of energy.
Building on nearly 30 years experience of managing energy, the Optimise service has been formulated to minimise the effects of new legislation and rising energy costs on clients' buildings. Every Optimise contract is tailored to the particular needs of each building, with projected savings based on the specific conditions at each site.
"Optimise is focused on reducing energy consumption, rather than just energy costs, so that overheads are minimised irrespective of fluctuations in fuel prices," explained Simon Matthews, head of Cofathec's Energy Division. "As such, it brings together all of the facets of our energy management expertise in a single package," he added.
Prior to its launch, Optimise has been thoroughly field tested in a variety of environments and sectors. Across a government portfolio of 10 buildings, for example, the Optimise service has reduced annual energy consumption by 30% from 100 million kWh to 70 million kWh.
These savings yielded a financial saving of £0.5m per annum, as well as a reduction in carbon dioxide emissions of 7500 tonnes per annum.
Optimise provides a seamless blend of complementary energy management disciplines, all of which have been available from Cofathec as individual services for many years. These include the administration and management of energy use, as well as the maintenance and optimisation of plant performance, backed by a 24 hour monitoring service through the Cofathec bureau.
