provider Cofathec
has won a major
energy services
contract with
OGCbuying.
solutions to provide
energy services to
the Whitehall Estate.
Under the
contract,Cofathec
will be responsible
for the operation, maintenance and
management of two Energy
Centres, distribution of heat and
power and procurement of gas and
diesel. Additional works will include
extending the existing district
heating network and optimisation
of power plant performance.
The Whitehall Estate includes the
Houses of Parliament and a range of
central government
departments, some of which
are served by the Whitehall
District Heating System (WDHS)
and the Whitehall Standby
Distribution system (WSDS).
The WDHS generates and
distributes hot water (HTHW) to
the buildings on the estate and
Cofathec will be responsible for
the supply of heat to an agreed
point within each building.The
WSDS is connected to the
Whitehall Distribution network and
provides standby generation
