Energy bureau wins public sector accredited supplier status
April 1st 2006

Following a competitive tender by OGCbuying.solutions for the supply of Energy Bureau Services to the public sector TEAM (EAA) has been selected as an accredited supplier.

The pre-tendered contract allows any organisation within or associated with the public sector to implement a flexible energy management service, which can monitor all utilities including electricity, gas, water and oil to help reduce cost. The benefits of the contract are that there is no need for a lengthy and costly tender process as competitive rates have been pre- approved. The service is flexible, simple and easy to implement.

As the accredited supplier TEAM will continue to provide Energy Management Services to organisations such as Royal Mail, DEFRA, UK Passport Agency, Historic Royal Palaces and the British Museum.

A new addition to the contract, which starts on 1st April will be the provision of associated services including energy consultancy services such as on-site surveys, project management and the provision of on-site part-time energy managers.

Savings achieved through using an energy bureau are considerable and come from three main areas: Identification of energy waste through monitoring and targeting techniques can reduce costs by up to 20% with no cost and low cost measures. A further 3 % (approx.) can be saved on cost recoveries identified as a result of utility bill validation and checking.

OGCbuying.solutions estimate that the full cost of processing an energy bill can be up to £50, so considerable savings can be achieved when outsourcing where TEAM process bills electronically.
