What is Revenue Recovery?
Revenue Recovery is a service provided by BIU, in which historical costs are analysed with a view to uncovering any instances of overcharges on electricity, gas and water invoices.
Why do over-charges happen?
Since the deregulation of the UK energy industry, billing data received from suppliers now contains numerous elements that make it increasingly difficult to validate by the untrained eye.
Coupled with hidden costs, not visible on the bill, there are over 100 elements that can make up a final invoice, not all of which are based on measured usage. This increased complexity means that over-charging is now common place.
What if I already have a consultant?
BIU’s Revenue Recovery Service will have no impact on your current arrangements, whatever your contractual situation with either suppliers or consultants.
What will BIU do?
BIU will undertake analysis of your utility charges going back as far as statute allows.
BIU have logged hundreds of different types of billing anomalies using their state-ofthe- art systems and will apply this expertise to recovering any lost revenue for you. Once over-charges have been identified BIU will challenge the charges with suppliers and handle everything from initial identification through to Revenue Recovery (hence the name).
Do I need a budget?
BIU will undertake the audit on a purely performance related basis, eliminating the need for any initial capital expenditure from the clients.
