Power to the power stations December 1st 2007 MEMS Power Generation, a power generator hire business that is 100% carbon-neutral, is now providing continuous power supply for two of the world's biggest renewable energy power stations.
Thetford Power Station at 38.5MW is chicken litter fuelled, while the Ely Station, at 38MW, is a straw burning power station.
MEMS engineered a solution at each plant to ensure they received uninterrupted power supply to prevent site shutdown or disruption during periods of up to four weeks during annual maintenance. At both sites, generators were set up in parallel redundancy mode to share the loadings, a method that would also provide back-up in the event of a single unit failure. |
