Remote monitoring system October 1st 2005 Portsmouth Water is to take advantage of the features and benefits of remote monitoring technology by utilising Dynamic Logic's D7000 series Telemetry Outstation, available through ITT Flygt's Monitoring and Control division.
Portsmouth Water has specified and installed thirteen D7150 units to provide an effective remote monitoring system at key reservoir sites throughout the region, all of which have no mains power.
The D715x family is a range of IP65/IP67 low-power data logger/telemetry outstations with three power options. The variant used by Portsmouth Water uses alkaline batteries which can power the unit for more than five years, depending on usage and temperature conditions. It offers a wide range of digital analogue inputs supported with high resolution measurement up to 16-bit.
Commenting on behalf of Portsmouth Water, Kevin Barnett, senior technician, said, "Since installation, the Dynamic Logic units have been very reliable and we have encountered few problems. Overall the units have been hugely beneficial to us as a business by giving us full remote control over our reservoir assets, and have helped to reduce unnecessary site visits and minimise maintenance time."
In addition to the alkaline battery model, the unit is available in a dcpowered (D7151) or mains acpowered (D7155) configuration with internal battery back-up. More articles from I T T Flygt Ltd: |
