Management device with added control
August 1st 2007

The process industry is fast becoming more switched-on to the benefits that energy management can bring, such as a reduction in carbon emissions, ability to meet legislation and cost savings.

Automatic Monitoring and Targeting devices (aM&T) are seen by many as a key tool in helping businesses to reduce environmental impact and deliver effective energy management. However Lisa Wilkinson, business development director, at t-mac Technologies warns that businesses shouldn't rely solely on aM&T devices or smart metering for energy management assistance.

T-mac, an aM&T+C system, has a built-in logic controller, which means users can control equipment in accordance to changing conditions and coordinate suitable on times in response to requirements. They can also remotely shut-down machinery or turn it off if levels/load become critical.

By controlling energy use or minimising use of high consumption areas, businesses can take action to reduce energy costs and carbon emissions.
