Turbine supervisoryguide December 1st 2005 Sensonics has intriduced a 28-page Turbine Supervisory Guide that outlines and explains the basics of vibration and expansion measurement techniques relkating to turbine and auxiliary plant equipment.
Problems such as cracked rotors and damaged shafts can be avoided with the application of the appropriate monitoring equipment, the guide explains, allowing such faults to be detected in the early stages and avoiding lengthy shut down of the turbine.
The guide includes an introduction to the industry standard transducers available for critical rotating plant monitoring. It also covers the various measurement techniques typically used within the power industry, inlcuding safe plant shut down, associated system components and special measurement regimes.
