WWF campaign June 1st 2008 Philips Lighting BV, a company
of Royal Philips Electronics, has
presented a check of €500.000,-
to the World Wildlife Fund at the
annual congress of the European
Union of Electrical Wholesalers in
Brussels.The money was raised
via a special promotion on the
energy efficient Philips MASTER
TL5 and MASTER TL-D Eco
fluorescent lamps. During the
campaign period, which ran from
May 2007 to May 2008, Philips
made a donation to WWF for
every MASTER TL5 and MASTER
TL-D Eco lamp sold in Europe.
Jan Poelman, senior vicepresident
at Philips Lighting,
comments:"The joint ecocampaign
was focused on raising
awareness on the importance of
energy efficient lighting in the
professional market. Still, almost
75% of all buildings use
inefficient lighting. By simply
replacing T8 fluorescent lamps
with MASTER TL-D Eco lamps
companies immediately save
more than 10% energy. Even
more effective is to upgrade to
a T5 fluorescent system with
lighting controls. Resulting in
energy savings of even up to
75%." More articles from Philips Lighting: |
