Energy saving lamps simply plug-in
April 1st 2008 The 'Save It Easy' units, which will
be exhibited on the ECSL stand at
NEMEX, are designed to remove
the biggest barrier to major
energy efficiency enhancement of
fluorescent lighting systems – the
cost of replacing existing ceiling
fittings (luminaires).
'Save It Easy' enables fluorescent
lighting users to re-lamp with high
efficiency T5 and T8 tubes in
existing fittings.
Energy savings range from 34%
to 56% depending on application.
Plug-in installation avoids the
need for highly qualified staff and
the engineering problems of new
attachments and re-wiring.
An installation at the Royal
Surrey Hospital, Guildford, showed
energy savings of 137 356kWh per
annum, representing an annual
saving of £6730 and annual CO2
emissions saving of 59t.
