Shining heating success for Beacon February 1st 2008 Space heating and hot water
requirements at the new Newark
Beacon business centre are being
met by a combination of biomass
and gas-fired condensing boilers
from Hoval. The boilers were
supplied by combustion specialist
Instatherm and installed by local
contractor Miller Freeman.
Sustainability and achieving a
high BREEAM rating were key
criteria for the design of the
building, so two BioLyt wood pellet
boilers from local manufacturer
Hoval have been installed to meet
most of the heating and hot water
requirements.Operation, function
control and fuel dosage are
automated, with pellets from the 20
tonne storage silo being fed to the
boiler by an automatic pellet
feeding system.
The BioLyt boilers are
supplemented by an UltraGas
condensing boiler brought online
at times of peak demand. Boiler
sequencing is controlled by Hoval's
TopTronic control system, which
alternates the lead and lag status of
each of the two BioLyt boilers to
ensure even use of both boilers. More articles from Hoval Limited: |
