RSC acts to improve staff comfort
April 1st 2008 Some 47 cottages in Stratfordupon-
Avon, some dating back to
the 17th century, are used to
house actors and theatre staff
during the Royal Shakespeare
Company season. While from the
outside they may add to the
charm of the town, they did little
for the comfort of the occupants.
Improvements are now
underway. Space is limited and
there was only the crudest of
heating and hot water systems.
Viessmann Vitodens 100 combi
boilers have been installed. Rated
at 30kW, they give a high standard
of hot water provision to the
renovated bathrooms. A further
issue was service costs and boiler
life. A 10-year guarantee on the
stainless steel heat exchanger and
a 5-year warranty on operating
