A historic building in Liverpool's Riverside dock area is being redeveloped as part of the city's European Capital of Culture year 2008.The building is a Grade II listed warehouse originally used to hold slaves as they passed through Liverpool. The conversion, part of the Buddleia Project, is developing the six storeys into conference and exhibition facilities, restaurant and business units.

The heating, ventilating and airconditioning systems within the redeveloped building include a wide range of valves produced by Crane Fluid Systems and installed by building services contractors A & B Engineering of Liverpool. The valve types installed include bronze commissioning sets, isolation valves, check valves and strainers and large 200mm iron valves installed in the plant room.
