Keeping temps under control

Nor-Ray-Vac continuous radiant tube heating from AmbiRad is helping data cabling manufacturer Brand-Rex cut energy costs at its main plant in Glenrothes, Fife.

Brand-Rex recently consolidated several factory sites into one unit with five 100m long production bays.The building has low roof height (4.5m to the eaves and 6.5m to the ridge) and requires temperature control within each bay.The solution was designed jointly by AmbiRad and M&E contractor Thermatic, who also carried out the installation. 42 Nor- Ray-Vac LR burners (25 x 24kW and 17 x 32kW output burners) were fitted. Each bay has its own small Nor-Ray-Vac system, allowing precision temperature control within each.The systems can be used where roof heights are relatively low, providing quick startup and heat recovery, delivering heat at lower intensity.
