Exhaust air heat pumps offer savings August 1st 2006 The 310P Model, from Nibe Energy Systems, is an Exhaust Air Heat Pump which claims to save around 7500kWh in buildings with a floor space of up to 200 square meters. The unit, from the Fighter range, recovers thermal energy from warm air inside that would normally be lost in the ventilation process. The air eventually discharged outside is at or near 0 degrees Centigrade. and the heat recovered is transferred via an indirect heating surface to a doublejacket tank that supplies the domestic hot water and radiator heating system. In warm weather the Fighter would normally cover the entire hot water needs of a household but in cold weather a thermostat automatically activates an immersion heater in the tank when the temperature drops below set limits.
