Breath of fresh air for gym users
December 1st 2007 Wycombe Leisure in High
Wycombe experienced problems
with excessive summertime
temperatures and high humidity
levels due to the proximity of the
swimming pool and an ineffective
air-con system.
An EcoCooling system was
designed to introduced a high
internal air change rate to reduce
odours and build a positive
pressure to effectively pressurise
the area and minimise the influx of
warm, humid air from the pool.
At Wycombe Leisure's Chipping
Norton premises, the excessive cost
of air conditioning and a move
towards more environmentallyfriendly
products prompted the
move to evaporative cooling.Here,
two extract fans were introduced at
low level and one EcoCooler was
used, introducing air through a
high level textile duct.The gym
feels fresher and odour problems
have disappeared.The energyefficient
systems have also cut
