Kitted out for preventive maintenance WEE Aug'07 96+4pp 20/8/07 18:25 Page 91 August 1st 2007 ABB has extended its range of preventive maintenance kits for ABB industrial drives. The kits contain all the genuine spare parts needed to service drives at planned intervals in order to extend their service lives and minimise any risk of product failure and downtime. New versions of the kits are now available for the ACS60 and ACS800 series of drives. The kits simpify the purchasing process by providing everything the user needs in a single package. They are packaged and delivered at a lower price than it would cost to buy all the components separately. For example, a typical kit might contain replacement cooling fans, cables and capacitors. Because they are tailored to match the age and condition of each individual drive, the kits are generally supplied as part of a wider package of services within ABB's lifecycle management programme. However, they may also be supplied off-the-shelf if the user can provide the right information for ABB to effectively match the drive with the right kit. ABB says it wants to help customers optimise the time between overhauls and minimise the likelihood of any problems, without incurring extra costs by over-maintaining the equipment. |
