Defeats borehole gremlins
August 1st 2006

Dold's new IL 9017/300 - 1.5kW and BI 9028.38/900 - 7.5kW, single-phase soft start, soft stop units have been designed to reduce borehole pump starting current and minimise the effects of starting torque and water hammer. Fitment will reduce the number of costly return to site visits by the pump installer to repair broken pipe work and blocked filters, often caused by debris pick up on the pump filters, when excessive pipe work movement takes place when starting and stopping the pump.

These units are suitable for use with 230Vac motors and have adjustable ramp times and start torque settings, they do not require additional control contactors and utilise the existing borehole float switches or level sensors.

Both units have built in bypass contactors for 100% running efficiency and low EMC emissions, they reduce motor starting current by up to 30%,significantly reducing the adverse volt drop effects that DOL pump starting creates on single phase domestic and agricultural supplies.
